Pickup Tutorial

Create Pickup

  1. When you create a new pickup, you must indicate your role in the shipment.
    Note: The information you will need to review and enter will differ somewhat, depending on the role you selected (shipper, consignee or third party).
  2. Or create a new Pickup from a BOL template. Simply choose a template from the drop-down list.

Shipper, Step 1

  1. Review the Origin Location. If you are shipping from an origin location that differs from the location showing in this section, click Choose Location to select another location associated with your profile.
  2. Enter your Pickup Contact information. Name and Phone number are required; however, you may also want to include email address(es) to receive pickup confirmation.
  3. Enter your Pickup Details.
    Note: Your shipment must be ready two hours before your dock closing time and no later than 4 p.m. local time. Please call your local service center to schedule a pickup after hours.
  4. The Loading Details section is optional.
  5. You may have up to 10 destinations per pickup request. Select the number, then click the numbered tabs to complete the details for each destination.
  6. Important: Assign a unique name or reference number that you will remember for each destination, which will help you create a BOL for each shipment later. Or you may want to type a comment or note, such as a pickup number, that you need to provide to us.
  7. Click Go to step 2.

Consignee, Step 1

  1. Enter Origin Location information. Click ZIP Finder to search for ZIP/postal codes by city name.
  2. Review Pickup Contact information. Name and Phone number are required; however, you may also want to include email address(es) to receive pickup confirmation.
  3. Enter your Pickup Details.
    Note: Your shipment must be ready two hours before your dock closing time and no later than 4 p.m. local time. Please call your local service center to schedule a pickup after hours.
  4. The Loading Details section is optional.
  5. Review your Destination Location information. If you are shipping to a destination different from the location showing in this section, click Choose Location to select another location associated with your profile.

  7. Click Go to step 2.

Third Party, Step 1

  1. Review the Third Party Billing Address. If the billing address differs from the location showing in this section, click Choose Location to select another address associated with your profile.
  2. Enter Origin Location information. Click ZIP Finder to search for ZIP/postal codes by city name.
  3. Review the Pickup Contact information. Name and Phone number are required; however, you may also want to include email address(es) to receive pickup confirmation.
  4. Enter your Pickup Details.
    Note: Your shipment must be ready two hours before your dock closing time and no later than 4 p.m. local time. Please call your local service center to schedule a pickup after hours.
  5. The Loading Details section is optional.

  8. Click Go to step 2.

Step 2

  1. Review the Destination(s).
  2. Complete the required fields in the Product Details section.
  3. Added services are optional, and additional charges may be applied for any of the services you choose. Click Explain Service to see a list of service descriptions.
  4. To engage our Guaranteed Window Delivery services, including Multiday and Multihour, you must click Pick Dates/Times or Pick Date in the Delivery Days column, then indicate the window dates and/or times you require.
  5. You must select a Delivery Option before previewing your pickup request. Click the name of the service type to learn about it.
  6. Click Preview pickup to proceed to the next step.

Preview

  1. Carefully review all the information on the preview screen to ensure that the details are correct before you schedule the pickup with us.
  2. If you need to change the information, click Edit pickup to return to Step 1.
  3. Click Schedule pickup to confirm the pickup request.

Confirmation

  1. Click Create a BOL to save time and effort by creating a bill of lading based on information you entered for this pickup request.
  2. Click Printable version to print the details of your pickup request.
  3. Click Pending pickup requests to view/edit your pending requests.
  4. Click Create pickup request to schedule a new pickup.

Pending Pickups

  1. Click View pending pickups; a list of your pending pickups appears.
    Note: If you do not have any pending pickups, only the list headings appear in a table and a message will tell you that you have no pending pickups.
  2. Click the radio button next to the pickup you want to view/edit, then click View, Edit or Cancel.
  3. Click Edit to go to the Create Pickup page to change details of a selected pickup.
  4. Click Cancel to delete a selected pickup. A box appears, asking you whether you are sure you want to delete the pickup. Click OK to delete the pickup or Cancel to return to the list without doing anything.
  5. Click the radio button next to the pickup you want to view/edit, then click View, Edit or Cancel.
  6. Click Create pickup request to schedule a new pickup.
